shanghai

hey guys
back from that developing place up north.
nice trip overall.

good food, good company, great shopping.
spent loads and had many laughs.

yeah everyones gonna ask me about this china girl the guys got her number from.
she's a waitress and my parents where there eating too.
i know this sounds very. bgr and very like every other boygirl story. i will prove you wrong. try to understand how im looking at all this. my perspective.

so anyway, after afew missed attempts, we got her out to xintiandi for coffee. and being the nice people we are, got her coffee and chatted, even though the language barrier was pretty big. pleasant looking lah. not hot/pretty/sexy whatever u like.
the whole idea was protraying a nice image of singapore to her. i mean, cant persuade all of them so just start with one. since we got the number already.

i personally think its not very charming to ask for her number and not call back or follow up, irregardless of her looks or your level of interest.

so i sent her back home on a cab on borrowed money from mark. she was friendly to me cos i probably was the only one getting thru to her. so we got off the cab and chatted in the park. in chinese of course. okay to really sum this up right.
i dont like her, but im damn compelled to treat her well. reason?

she's so un-singaporean. im gonna do some singaporean female bashing here. so forgive me and dont banish me to no-sex-land. these people earn peanuts there. literally rural people coming to the big city to work and experience life. everything is an eye-opener for them. a free coffee at starbucks is godsent. being able to chill and meet foreigners is new too. u can literally see the wide-eyed expression like being really impressed or interested. now how often we see that in local girls. too comfortable. nothing impresses them. too busy playing hard to get or putting up fronts that they lose who they are. who are they? nobody even knows now.

perhaps im looking for someone easily pleased. but i think that im looking for someone who is pleased by the simple things like a cup of coffee. and someone who has spent her life finding how she is different from the common girl. she likes shopping and listening to music, and her mp3 player dropped in her toiletbowl.
and the fact that she likes horrendous music like fishleong and pan wei bo and isnt afraid to share it with everyone is just, charming. girls over here just, different.

as u can tell im having trouble putting a finger on it. but i guess being in singapore means we dont have rural girls. and everyone has lost that simple innocence which is so uplifting. i guess this girl, jianhua, was a breath of fresh air. and its helped me see abit better. how all this while staying in one place can make a person myopic. and your perfect life, is out there waiting. settling for less, is not an option.
